Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a Christian?

No, you do not. I have clients of other religions and others who are spiritual.

How is Christian counseling different?

It utilizes the client’s faith as a resource and strength during therapy.

What if I want therapy but not prayer?

That is fine. Using prayer is not a requirement for working with me.

Do you offer EMDR online?

Yes, I do. I was trained online in 2020 and the training included bi-lateral stimulation, which is a tapping protocol that I teach to my EMDR clients. It works as well as eye movement and is easier to utilize.

Do you accept insurance?

No, I do not accept insurance but do take some clients on with a sliding scale rate.

How long does therapy usually take?

That depends. Most clients obtain relief for issues that they initially come to therapy for within the first 4 sessions and progress to feeling they are in control of that issue in a few months. Many times clients will continue to work on other issues. If there is a major diagnosis, therapy may be more long term. How long we work together is totally up to you.

What makes you different?

I am trained in traditional mental health therapies like CBT, but am also trained in Exposure Responce Prevention for OCD, EMDR for trauma, ACT, and mindfulness, Hypnosis, Heartmath Institute Interventions and Neurolinguistic Programing.

What are your beliefs?

I was raised Catholic and became a Born Again Christian as an adult. I have attended Baptist, Non-denominational, Evangelical and Pentecostal churches. I am science minded and believe that it does not oppose spirituality. I believe in Quantum Physics and can see how it aligns with prayer. I utilize mindfulness and meditation and can teach how to use these resources with your faith. I work with Biblical faiths and can assist anyone who is Catholic, Christian, Jewish or spiritual.
